Class Descriptions
Hip Hop and Breakdance
It's the main language of the youth culture around the world - urban,
energetic, powerful and creative.
Tap
It's making a comeback - that rhythmic, toe-tapping that is fun and engaging.
We'll begin with the basics and go from there. Tap shoes will be required.
Jazz
Get yourself kicking, turning and jumping - this class will focus on the basics
of jazz technique.
Ballet
One of the most essential basics to good dance training. Choose the level that
best suits your current ballet background.
Intro to Dance
These intro classes offer a little bit of every style of dance to get our youngest
dancers started. There will be less of an emphasis on technique in order to
foster freedom of expression, fun and creativity.
Contemporary Dance
This dance form is constantly transformed with each choreography - its
foundations are ballet and modern dance technique, but the end result is as
creatively eclectic as its dancers.
Creative Dance
These creative movement classes are designed to create spontaneous
movement from the heart of the dancer - for worship or just to get moving to
music; technique will be less emphasized. There will be a spiritual component
to this class.
Zumba
This is one of the most popular new exercise/dance forms especially for
adults and young adults. It is a hybrid of salsa-style steps and rhythmic
exercise. You've never had so much fun getting into shape.
Stretch and Strength
These foundational body strengthening classes are for dancers and non-
dancers alike. A healthy combination of Pilates and flexibility exercises that
are important for strengthening the whole body, especially core muscles.
Kids on Stage
This class is specifically designed for those who love to be on stage. We will
help to facilitate confidence in projecting vocally for speaking, singing or
acting. The classes will have a bit of a musical theatre flavour and will
emphasize creative activities that will foster improvisational skills and
character development.
